Kindness is Medicine

I haven't done a check-in lately. In case you don't remember, the blog started out as a check-in with each of you where you would respond to the post with a colored smiley face or another emoji that described your state of mind, emotions and life in general. It is interesting what reminded me of the origins of this blog... it was something I saw as I was scrolling through facebook. I saw fear, dread and angst of dramatic proportions. I saw people afraid of a virus, I saw people afraid of their current way of life being disrupted. I witnessed people, bravely trying to keep their chins up and be helpful, making masks, volunteering food and other help and trying to be good neighbors. I also saw people, ranting, railing and dismissing the feelings of others. I defaulted to what I only know, I delved deeper into scripture and prayer and so the blog was born.

Everything is getting ready to change again. We are slowly getting ready to return to the normal that I am pretty sure will not look like the normal we had, nor should it. Some of you may be afraid. Some are afraid that more people will fall ill due to the restrictions being lifted. Some of you are afraid we took too long to return to normal and they may not rebound financially from the time away. Some of you are afraid and don't realize the anger, frustration, aggravation or restlessness you are feeling is rooted in fear of something. Fear is a slippery slope towards many other emotions that mask its true origin...fear. These emotions cause many to focus towards self-protectionism which allows us to be unkind to others.

As I Study...I read in Romans about encouraging each other. How can we do that right now. Be nice. Be kind.  You don't have to argue about everything you believe. Pushing your beliefs and position does not help someone that is hurting, for whatever reason. You can try to remember everyone is going through their own journey. In Ephesians Paul tells that church how to encourage..."Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." I have enclosed some extra photos to encourage you today!

Today:

  • Check-in with me! Let me know how you are.
  • Direct message me if you need prayer - or anything. I will try to help ir at least listen.
  • Find a way to be nice to someone who least deserves it.
